I2G kicked it with Zed Zilla for a exclusive interview. We discuss his new mixtape, Rents Due, which is out now. We also discuss how he linked up with Yo Gotti and much more so check it out.

Illuminati 2G is here with Zed Zilla how’s it going man?

Going good.

Tell me a little bit about how you got your start in hip hop and who are some of your musical influences out there.

I got started with my big brother and we were in a group together when I was around 14. I was the youngest in the group and they have me a chance to shine, it was actually a tape back then and I got on one of by brother’s songs and ever since then I have been going hard.

Some of my musical influences, I used to listen to alot of down south rap, Playa Fly, Yo Gotti, Gangsta Blac, Geto Boys, Master P.

How did you end up linking up with Yo Gotti?

He actually had a show at the Gibson Guitar Center and he seen my performance and he liked it. We had a conversation after that and he told me he was always looking for someone from the south to collab with and help show the ropes of the industry.

We have been click tight ever since then and he has been just showing me the ins and outs of the industry.

You just recently dropped your new single entitled Fire Dat Bitch. Tell me a little bit about it.

Yeah that single is going to be on my new mixtape, Rent’s Due, hosted by DJ Rankin.

Is there any details that you can give about the mixtape?

The mixtape I kept it mainly me for the most part. I have a couple special features on the tape that I felt would complete it. Yo Gotti, 2 Chainz, Gorilla Zoe, and a couple of my homeboys that I mess with from the hood on there as well.

What’s the plan after the mixtape drops? Do you have a full length LP in the works?

We actually never stop working and we stay in the studio. We are going to leave it up to the streets and see what they want. If they want another mixtape, then we coming right back with another one. If they want a album then we will give them a album, because actually this mixtape is like a album to me.

What’s your thoughts on hip hop in 2011?

I am waiting on that Live From The Kitchen project actually. I liked 2 Chainz album, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa’s project and I like the stuff that Wale is doing.

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates?

We have some shows coming up in St. Louis the last of the month.

What’s your website information?

Alright well that is all the questions I have for you. Appreciate you getting down for the interview. Is there any last words or shoutouts you want to get out there to the people?

Shout out to my label, shout out to my hood, South Memphis.
